UX Optimization Engineer
Are you obsessed about the customer experience? Do you want to make sure your sites are so clear and easy to use that no one is ever confused? If so, then this role may be perfect for you.
The Frontend UX Optimization Engineer will drive the process behind testing and iterating on our user interface design and communication. They will be crucial to the success of the company. If customers are confused, they ask, "what can we do better?" and then they improve it, test it and improve it some more. They are obsessed with not just finding an intuitive solution but one that can be proven to be more optimal.
The engineering environment at thredUP is fast paced and very agile. We use a modified scrum framework for our project management on a 2-week sprint cycle. We are looking for a hard-working, energetic developer that can handle some of the chaos that comes with the speed we move.

- Improve the customer experience and conversion by designing appropriate A/B (and multivariate) tests and implementing them.
- Build and integrate frontend designs for new or improved "features".

The job is hard and you must be comfortable with the uncertainty of a small agile team. Bugs and problems rarely come one at a time. They usually come all at once right at the most busy times. You should not be worried or panicked under pressure and in fact thrive.
You also must:
- Have very strong frontend skills. No exception.
- Be interested in and willing to learn ruby.
- Have experience running quantitative A/B tests on websites.
- Strive for perfection but be comfortable with compromise in the name of speed.
