BRAND SPOTLIGHT: Macy’s
Macy’s! It’s a classic American department store, founded way back in 1858, but did you know their clothing brands are thredUP customer favorites? We did a quick exercise with the thredUP team to find out what we associate with the brand Macy’s:
•”The Thanksgiving Day parade!! Those huge floats are so fun. Growing up in New York City, we used to go the Wednesday before the holiday to watch the blowing up of the floats. It was so magical to seem them come to life.” -Madeline, Marketing
•”Charter Club cashmere sweaters. I have been gifted Charter Club cashmere sweaters from Macy’s a handful of times. They are always so soft and such a great gift. Years later, I still wear those classic, luxe sweaters.” -Ashley, Design
•”Visiting their NYC Herald Square store with my grandmother and aunt on trips to NYC.” -Julia, Human Resources
Fun fact: Did you know that their Herald Square store is actually the second largest department store in the world?! It’s 1.1 million square feet of (primo!) retail real estate.
Aside from sponsoring amazing holiday events in NYC and being a tourist destination, Macy’s stores are nationwide, and they carry a handful of really great private label brands. These brands can be found only at Macy’s, and secondhand or New-With-Tags here at thredUP! Here’s quick primer on the best in-house brands from Macy’s we carry for up to 90% off, plus links and shopping ideas.
