What is the culture and energy like at the DC?
The culture at the DC is like no other job I have ever had. I love the creative energy of the company. Everyone is extremely welcoming and so helpful, and I am forever grateful to work with people like this.

What do you love most about working at thredUP?
What I love most about working at thredUP is the opportunity that it brings and our customers. We have the most fun and pleasant customers! And I truly mean that.

How would you describe thredUP in 5 words or less:
Creative, lively, thrilling, and giving.

What’s the most memorable interaction you’ve had with a customer?
It was when a customer was placing her first order and completely forgot to enter her 40% off code and she was devastated, as I would be too, and was asking to cancel her $200 order to use her coupon. I reassured her that she did not need to cancel her order and lose all her things, so I offered to retroactively apply the code for her and she was astoundingly grateful and shocked. Her reaction and response was priceless and I truly appreciated her and our conversation.

What’s your top secret tip to shopping on thredUP?
Utilizing the filters as much as possible. By narrowing down my options, I find the best things. Also, FAVORITING! I mention favoriting to all my customers and they love it because it’s so convenient and saves time when you want to go back to things. It’s for when you love something, but you’re just not ready to commit yet.

What’s your top secret tip to cleaning out your closet?
I ask myself, “Would I buy this again?” Meaning, I look at the quality and style of the item and if I can say yes, I know someone new will enjoy it.

How would you describe your style?
Simple elegance/modern vintage. I absolutely love vintage gems and I like my outfits to be semi “fancy” but simple. I’m usually wearing heels because it helps pull my entire outfit together.

What percentage of your wardrobe is thrifted?
Now, my wardrobe is about 75% thrifted and I’m so happy about it.

Why do you think secondhand first?
I think secondhand first because I care about the environment and love the idea of finding new gems that you couldn’t possibly find in stores.

Where do you get your coffee?
Hippie’s Brew in the East Bay. Trust me, they’re awesome! Otherwise, I go to Peet’s.

What styles are you looking forward to wearing most for fall?
TURTLENECKS!! I absolutely love turtlenecks and outerwear.

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
Marilyn Monroe. I’ve been asked to dress as Marilyn for the past two years and I’m finally doing it.

Best holiday rituals:
Going to Disneyland, going to my Grandma’s house for tamales, and doing a Secret Santa or White Elephant.

What do you keep buying over and over?
I’m finding that I keep buying pants. I love having a variety of different styles/materials.

Best life hack:
My best life hack is more of a style hack. For me, I get so cranky if any of my black or dark blue jeans start to fade from washing. I learned this trick last year on how to prevent fading on your jeans. All you do is add 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar to the last washing cycle, and no your clothing will not smell like vinegar.

One thing that I do each morning is I grab my small bottle of lavender essential oil and I breathe it in three times. It really helps me start my day off right and in a pleasant mood!

What is the best thing you ever bought from thredUP?
Definitely this Vivienne Westwood corset top that I got for ONLY $25! I was in disbelief.
