Tired of Styling? Jumpsuits Will Be Your Easiest Summer Uniform (Ever)

share this:

The weather’s gorgeous (finally!), so who would want to be stuck indoors figuring out their #OOTD? Um, nobody. That’s why our stylist-in-chief Cass loves rompers and jumpsuits for super easy one-and-done summer outfits! Check out Cass’ tips on super time-saving jumpsuit outfits to master for any event.

I love getting creative with my closet, but when the sun’s calling, it’s really hard not to just skip styling and be on my way. On perfect summer days, I reach for a jumpsuit or a cute romper so I can look totally put-together AND be out the door in seconds. Read on for my favorite one-and-done outfits!

The Day Out to Night Out Romper

Shorts and a cute top in one? Ummm, yes please! Rompers are one-piece wonders! I picked this orange number from Victoria Beckham for Target because I wanted to add some fun color to my outfit. That and I’m absolutely obsessed with the scalloping. Because a romper already looks like a complete outfit, it was super easy to take it from a day of errand-running to a night out with friends. All you have to do is switch up the accessories!

For Everyday

— I live in San Francisco, you never know when it’s going to get chilly. A denim jacket keeps me warm and instantly dresses down the romper.

— Speaking of dressing down, I always reach for my pair of classic white sneakers to add an edge to any look. I’m loving the contrast soles on this style too! You can trade sneakers in for flats if that’s more your vibe.

— Styling bright colors can be challenging. My rule of thumb is to pick one primary color and two complementary shades. The bright orange here takes precedence over my classic white sneakers and cool blue jacket so it looks balanced.

For a Night Out

— I really wanted to show off the scalloped detail of this halter romper, so I ditched the denim jacket. If it was chilly out, I’d opt for a kimono or a light blazer.

— To maximize the romper’s leg-lengthening effect, I swapped my comfy sneakers for chunky sandals with a little heel. White makes everything pop, it’s my go-to for drab outfits, especially when I’ve just had a pedicure!

— Since it’s an all-in-one piece, rompers might look way too plain. I put on a pair of chunky earrings to add a little pizzaz and movement to my look. Subtle but it really helps!

The Working for the Weekend Jumpsuit

Wanna look taller? Wear a jumpsuit. This striped jumpsuit from Forever 21 is the perfect work-to-weekend statement for a shorty like me. Plus, the culottes cut makes it super breathable (a summer must!). To break up the stripes, I wore a thin belt. Hot tip: Cinch the belt loosely around your waist for added definition AND visual interest!

For Work

— During winter, I’ve been layering this jumpsuit over a long-sleeve top. It’s getting too warm for that so I’ve opted for a blazer for more flexibility. I chose a loosely-tailored relaxed fit and rolled up the sleeves for a more lived-in look.

— Black and white are way too “blah” for a spring-to-summer outfit. I added a colorful pop with my favorite lilac mules. Fun enough for me, elevated enough for work.

— Last-minute happy hour with my team? I’m there with my little metallic zip pouch in tow. It instantly elevates my outfit and it’s great for keeping everything I need for quick touch-ups.

For the Weekend

— Shorts and T-shirts are great and all, but sometimes your girl just wants to look polished for the weekend. I opted to match my jumpsuit with ankle strap sandals. Casual enough to walk down the street, stylish enough to look my brunch best. If I wanted more height, I’d pick wedges instead.

— I gave my monochrome outfit a subtle punch by introducing neutral and warm shades through my caramel brown crossbody bag. The gold-tone chain adds an after-dark edge to the whole look so I really could rock this outfit from sunrise to sunset.

— After another busy work week, I like to let my hair down (literally). More of a beauty tip than a fashion tip, but I’m all about loose waves for the weekend. Especially when tucked behind statement earrings.
