Look For Less: How to Steal Taylor Swift’s Street Style

Named the best-dressed celebrity of 2014 by People, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift knows how to work a red carpet. But even when she’s strolling to lunch or a meeting, Taylor (who’s set to release a new album, 1989, next month) generally looks amazing, earning her monikers like “the queen of street style.” Here are three of our favorite casual looks from the lovely Ms. Swift, and how to score them without breaking the bank. To really go full Taylor, don’t forget to top these looks off with a swipe of her signature red lipstick– we like Neutrogena’s MoistureShine Lip Soother in Sheen or L’Oreal’s Infallible Le Rouge in Red Fatale, both of which are under $10.

Flannel and jeans: This outfit couldn’t be simpler, but Taylor gussies it up with cool shoes, a great bag, and of course, those famous red lips. Start with a colorful flannel like this one from American Eagle Outfitters (or even a more muted version like this one from Gap), then throw on some light-gray skinnies like this J Brand pair. High-heeled ShoeMint lace-up boots and a cheerful Forever 21 red satchel complete the look.

A ladylike skirt: This ensemble is both on-trend and office-appropriate, thanks to its ladylike vibe. This accordion-pleated pink Charlotte Russe skirt is a dead ringer for Taylor’s, and looks great with a form-fitting black Splendid tee. Add on a Salvatore Ferragamo satchel and some black Brooks Brothers loafers for the full Audrey Hepburn-esque effect.

Sweet and summery: This ensemble screams summer lightness, but a cardigan could easily take it into fall. Start with an easygoing fit-and-flare dress like this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs or this one by Sparkle and Fade, then accent it with a long gold initial necklace (Taylor is wearing an “S” for her best friend Selena Gomez, but using your own initial is perfectly OK.) A classic beige Ivanka Trump satchel is very ladies-who-lunch, so it’s OK to add a little intensity with a pair of bright-pink peep-toe heels from Vince Camuto.
