Top Tips For Shopping On thredUP (And Scoring One-Of-A-Kind Finds)

share this:

For anyone who has ever shopped on thredUP, or even just poked around a bit on the site, one thing becomes clear very quickly: There are so many options.

The key to finding items you love is to narrow down your choices. How does one go about this?  Elisa, our Director of User Experience who you may have met on our Instagram Stories, has a few tips that will make a huge difference. Trust us, she is a master at finding tailored silk tops, fall denimdresses, and boots. Here are her top tips:

1. Use The Size Filter: After clicking into any category—women, designer, shoes, any of them—click on the size filter. Check all that apply. Because sizing differs by brands, be sure to give yourself a range by going up or down a size. Save your settings so that any time you visit our site, your “My Sizes” filter will automatically apply.

2. Use The Brands Filter: Just like the sizes filter, you can click on brands that you want to browse.

Unlike the “My Sizes” feature, when you leave the site and come back, your “My Brands” filter will not automatically turn on. Your brand preferences are saved, but you need to toggle to “ON” for your selected brands to be shown.

Tip! If you’re searching for a brand that you know sizes differently,  turn off “My Sizes” and select a different size.

3. Use The Search Bar: This one might sound obvious, but it really works. If you’re in the market for a specific brand, style, color, pattern, or otherwise, try searching it! You just might find exactly what you’re looking for.

Tip! Check back in on those searches often. thredUP receives new inventory every day.

4. Check Your Recently Removed Items: If you put an item in your cart, it will be removed from your cart after 24 hours. But have no fear! When you go to your cart, you will see “Recently Removed From Your Cart.” If no one else has put the item in their cart, you will see your item there.
