About the Role

At ThredUP, we have a team of engineers working to revolutionize the clothing industry and we're looking for a leader to help bring that team to the next level. If you want to lead and scale an engineering team that cares a lot of about each other, our culture, the quality of our code, and building a successful company, we'd love to hear from you.


  • Grow our Android & iOS Mobile Engineering teams by hiring high caliber engineers.
  • Manage, mentor, and cultivate career growth for the talented engineers on your team.
  • Partner with our Head of Mobile Product as well as other business stakeholders to define and execute roadmaps.
  • Work with your team and other leads to ensure stability and velocity through continuous delivery.
  • With help from your Staff engineers, own the evolution of our mobile client platforms.
  • Empower engineers with transparency, context, and autonomy.
  • Work with our Product, Data Science and Marketing teams to forge game plans to delivery for the company strategy
  • Work closely with our Chief Product Officer and CTO to formulate and unpack our product/technical roadmaps.
  • Spearhead key initiatives with our executive team.
  • Coordinate with our other engineering teams (Infrastructure, Operations, Data, etc.) on cross-team projects/efforts.


  • 3+ years of managing a Mobile Engineering team.
  • 3+ years of native mobile IC experience.
  • A track record of building high-quality native mobile applications (iOS or Android).
  • (Bonus) E-Commerce experience.
  • Autonomy. The ability to make, own, and carry out decisions.
  • The ability to determine what processes and best practices are most conducive to productivity, transparency, and coordination.
  • Facilitating career growth for engineers through professional development.
  • Fast decision and execution tempo to enable a tight build, measure, and learn loop.
  • Setting realistic time estimates and completing them on time.
  • Being flexible and nimble to accommodate business needs.
