About the Role

At thredUP, we’re revolutionizing the clothing industry, and we're looking for a technical support person to provide day-to-day hands on support for our new Phoenix Distribution Center on desktops, mobile devices and applications. This position interfaces directly with internal operations users, troubleshooting problems related to photography equipment, desktops, touchscreen monitors, and printers and finding resolutions.

We aren’t looking for just another standard help desk person. We want someone who is really excited about new technology, operationally minded, someone who loves seeking out that weird bug, finally solving why an app keeps crashing, and solving a network problem we’ve been scratching our heads on for weeks!

Yes, this is primarily a support position, meaning we need help responding to user requests, writing out documentation, and helping simplify our processes. But there will definitely be opportunities to learn entirely new systems, hop into scripting, learn how to manage servers in the cloud, and more!

Responsibilities

  • Photo equipment installation and support.
  • Hardware / software installation and support.
  • Periodic workstation patch management.
  • Warehouse applications support and participate in training.
  • Manage application support documentation so that the floor can self serve themselves on basic needs.
  • Support warehouse network connectivity (wired/wireless).
  • Mobile devices and custom application installation.
  • Monitor the environment using monitoring tools and provide level 1 support.
  • Document issues from the floor clearly and communicate to engineers on steps to reproduce to find resolution.
  • Help to procure warehouse IT equipment and supplies, Manage returns.
  • Black box testing of applications to ensure quality.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of technical support experience.
  • Great oral and written communication.
  • Experience in using/diagnosing wired and wireless networks.
  • Experience in application management (Windows 10 environment).
  • Experience in supporting business applications.
  • Ability to analyze data to figure out data quality issues / process issues.
  • Ability to work varied work hours, be available for on-call support during evenings.
  • Ability to prioritize the open tasks and self manage.
  • Solid experience in managing wired and wireless networks.
  • Prior experience with high-end SLR cameras and maintenance would be a plus.
  • Basic scripting experience would be a plus. (Powershell or bash)
