About the Role

The thredUP accounting team is looking for another strong,  dynamic leader to fill its open Senior Accountant role. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for deliverables critical to the company’s financial close through applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze, record, reconcile and report the company’s financial results. The Senior Accountant will partner with the Assistant Controller to create and maintain good work papers for internal review and for external audits, as the Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing for, and working through, the company’s annual financial statement audit. This role reports to the Assistant Controller.


  • Perform monthly accounting close activities as assigned, such as bank reconciliations, fixed assets management,  prepaids reconciliations, credit card and expense reimbursement management, other balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of journal entries
  • Assist with external financial statement audits. Complete requested materials and assist in preparing assigned schedules for annual audit
  • Business registrations and filings for our locations
  • Form 1099 and property tax filings
  • Assist in the design, implementation,  and maintenance of accounting systems and controls
  • Assist with documenting desktop procedures and processes


  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience with Big 4 background (1-2 years of industry experience a plus!)
  • Working knowledge of US revenue GAAP
  • Experience navigating large data sets
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • NetSuite experience preferred, especially with its Fixed Assets Management module
  • Experience in e-Commerce a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • An eagerness to learn
