About the Role

At ThredUP, we have a team of engineers working to revolutionize the clothing industry and we're looking for a leader to help bring that team to the next level. If you want to lead and scale an engineering team that cares a lot of about each other, our culture, the quality of our code, and building a successful company, we'd love to hear from you.


  • Grow our Web and Native Mobile Engineering teams by hiring high caliber engineers.
  • Manage, mentor, and cultivate career growth for the talented engineers on your team.
  • Work closely with our Product team as well as other business stakeholders to define and execute our product roadmaps.
  • Work with your managers and leads to ensure stability and velocity through continuous delivery.
  • With help from your Staff and Principal engineers, own the evolution of our web and mobile client platforms.
  • Empower engineers with transparency, context, and autonomy.


  • 3+ years of leading/managing a front-end, customer facing, engineering team.
  • 5+ years of production-level engineering experience.
  • A track record of building high-quality native mobile applications (iOS or Android).
  • SPA web experience.
  • (Bonus) E-Commerce experience.
  • Autonomy. The ability to make, own, and carry out decisions. The ability to determine what processes and best practices are most conducive to productivity, transparency, and coordination.
