The wait is over, thrifters, Secondhand Month is back. For the newbies out there, August is when we throw a huge promo-filled party for all our favorite people, you! Highlights include our annual bingo game with amazing prizes, surprise discounts, eco education, and sales.
Why (and who) are we celebrating?
Fun fact, two of our favorite thrifty holidays happen in August: 8/17 National Thrift Shop Day, and 8/25 Secondhand Wardrobe Day! That’s why we’ve dedicated this month to celebrating all the good you do by choosing used over new. We know that choice can be a pretty tough one to make sometimes, there are a lot of temptations out there! So thanks for choosing to shop secondhand with us instead. Here’s why that’s worth celebrating:
- Secondhand means getting better quality for your money. According to a study by McKinsey, 60% of fast fashion items are made and tossed in the SAME year. Ultra fast fashion’s business model isn’t designed for the future, and neither is that $4 top.
- Secondhand means your closet is unique. There’s something for everybody. And we mean everybody. thredUP has over 5M items listed at any given time! You can explore your own unique style and trends without the guilt.
