Direct Listing Guidelines

Tips to help you sell directly with confidence.

If your item passes all of the below, you’re ready to sell.

  • Price $20+

Items under $20 can’t be listed directly. Send them in for Clean Out instead.

  • Women’s Only

Direct Listings are only available for women’s apparel or accessories.

  • Select Brands Only

The brand must be selectable in our listing flow and exactly match the label.

  • Eligible Category

Most women’s clothing & accessories with a short list of exceptions below.

Pricing

$20 minimum

Every Direct Listing must be priced at $20 or more. The minimum keeps shipping economics reasonable for buyers and seller payouts meaningful for you.

Below $20?

Bundle it into a Clean Out bag instead. We’ll handle photography, listing and shipping on your behalf.

Gender

Women’s only

Direct Listing supports women’s apparel and accessories only — no men’s, no kids’, no unisex-tagged items.

Have kids’ items at home? They can go in a Clean Out bag instead. We don’t accept men’s items in either flow.

Pick the right category

Listing eligible items in the right category helps keep Direct Listings accurate for everyone. If your item is borderline, the app’s category picker is the source of truth. If a category isn’t available there, it isn’t eligible.

Brands

Must be in our brand list

When you start a listing, you’ll pick the brand from a searchable list of 35,000+ brands. The brand on your item’s label has to match the one you pick — exactly. If you can’t find your brand in the picker, your item isn’t eligible for Direct Listing.

No vintage, homemade, or unbranded

Items without a clear, matching brand label can’t be sold through Direct Listing — this includes vintage finds with worn-off tags, items you made yourself, and items you’ve altered in ways the original brand wouldn’t recognize.

Common pitfalls

  • Picking a parent company instead of the specific label (e.g. Gap Inc. vs. Old Navy)
  • Sub-labels with their own brand name (e.g. J. Crew Factory is separate from J. Crew)
  • Co-branded collabs — pick the brand that appears on the main label
  • Private label or store-exclusive lines that aren’t in our list

No luxury

We don’t accept luxury brands through Direct Listing — they require specialized authentication and a separate consignment program.

Got luxury at home? Send it in a Clean Out bag. Some examples of what we mean:

  • Hermès
  • Chanel
  • Louis Vuitton
  • Gucci
  • Prada
  • Dior
  • Saint Laurent
  • Bottega Veneta
  • Versace

Style Names

How a title is built

Your Style Name sits in front of the category we detect. For Lululemon leggings, typing “Align” as the Style Name produces a finished title of “Align Leggings.” Keep style names short and exact — model names, collection names, or distinctive product names work best.

What makes a good style name

Use the official product name from the brand. “Align,” “Air Force 1,” “Marina Tank,” “501,” “Pebble Bag.” Avoid generic descriptors like “black,” “summer,” or “comfy” — those go in the description, not the style name.

Sizing

Accurate size

The size you select must accurately reflect the item’s actual size. When in doubt, refer to the item’s tag or measurements.

Photos

Required photos

All listings must have required photos. Clothing needs front and back photos; shoes need front and side photos. Backgrounds will be removed automatically.

While not required, adding extra photos can help your listing stand out and build trust with buyers. We recommend adding photos of item’s flaws (if any), brand label, and material label.

Clear photo quality

Photos must clearly depict your item. Avoid using filters, watermarks, and taking photos in poor lighting.

Photos must be taken by you

Only upload photos of your own item — no stock images or images taken from company websites.

Authenticity

Authentic items only

Only list items whose authenticity can be clearly verified. Listings may be removed if there is any doubt about whether an item is genuine.

Appropriate Content

Family-friendly

Any photo, item, or description that is not deemed family-friendly, such as offensive, explicit, or sensitive graphics or text, are not eligible for listing.
